Rain the only thing that can stop the CUBS!

Crazy Carlos was looking good before mother nature called the game.  After retiring all nine batters he faced, Zambrano looked sharp, relieved and relaxed after getting his contract situation resolved after a season of waiting. He was certainly on track to be better than he had in his previous three starts.

Jacque Jones homer and puts the Cubs in 1st!

Jacque Jones has heard it all. Boos, catcalls and on Friday the cheers from a powerful ovation at Wrigley Field.

Benched earlier this season and nearly traded, Jones made a great catch and hit a two-run homer to lead a 2-1 Cubs’ victory Friday that ended the St. Louis Cardinals‘ five-game winning streak and pushed Chicago into first in the NL Central.

CRAZY CARLOS STAYING IN CHICAGO!

Chicago Cubs right-handed pitcher Carlos Zambrano isn’t going anywhere.Zambrano has signed a five-year contract extension valued at $90 million, ESPN Radio 1000 is reporting.

Zambrano and the Cubs have been negotiating since the beginning of the season, but the impending sale of the team by the Tribune Company put the deal on hold. Zambrano has had a solid season, and the value of the deal is approximate $10 million more than it would have been in April.

Cubs Lose Again! Brewers, Cubs and Cardinals going down to the Wire!

The Cubs once again lost a chance to gain ground on the Milwaukee Brewers as they blew a 9-6 lead at Wrigley Field.  If the Cubs can not beat the Reds, how are they going to do against the Cardinals, Diamondbacks and any other team that is near the .500 mark?
